En avril 2007, Ramuntcho Matta s’est rendu à Kyoto pour jouer avec le duo japonais Mama Milk, il en est revenu avec des heures d’enregistrements live réalisés par Romain de Gueltzl. De cette rencontre de trois instruments, une accordéoniste, un contrebassiste et Ramuntcho à la guitare qui parfois chante est née une musique singulière où le jazz, le tango et la nouvelle musique se côtoient dans une intention à la fois zen et sincèrement contemporaine. Afin de faire partager ces moments particuliers qui furent produits dans l’unique intention de se faire plaisir, SometimeStudio a décidé de publier ces enregistrements. Le premier disque à sortir est “MA_TTA“ qui en japonais veut dire “attends“ , “prends le temps“. C’est un disque pour se détendre, un disque de relaxation intense et serein. En plus du trio d’origine Hiroko Komiya est venue faire des sons avec des objets quotidiens afin d’en révéler la musicalité. Le deuxième s’intitule “AT_TA“ ce qui veut dire “on a trouvé“ ou “j’ai trouvé“. C’est un disque plus animé, où le trio Mama Milk et Ramuntcho Matta présente une osmose musicale exceptionnelle. “AT_TA“ fut enregistrée dans un théâtre abandonné avec une acoustique n’ayant besoin d’aucun artifice. > MA_TTA intéractif Ramuntcho Matta réalise la série de huit animations audio-réactive MA-TTA, dans la suite logique de Génialogie, une série de dessins de 2006 représentant l’arbre généalogique de sa famille. Comme ces dessins, ces animations qui peuvent être assimilées à un programme émotionnel fonctionne selon un système de rhizomes qui évoluent, s’accrochent et se décrochent en fonction de la musique. Cette musique réalisée par Ramuntcho Matta, mama!milk et Hiroko Komiya est construite avec un accordéon, une contrebasse, une guitare, des objets quotidiens et parfois le chant de l’artiste. Ces Rhizomes tiraillés entre la volonté de partir et de rester sont à l’image des émotions humaines si difficile à définir, des liens entre les hommes si difficile à entretenir. Hypnotiques, apaisantes, ces animations sont en totale corrélation avec le terme « MATTA » qui en japonais signifie « attend, prend le temps ». Doit-on y voir un caractère autobiographique ? Suite de Génialogie, assimilation avec le terme « MATTA », un raccourci amènerait à répondre oui ! Mais ces vidéos vont au delà! Elles ont quelque chose d’universel où tout un chacun peut s’y retrouver. La technique est mise au service de l’humain avec ce programme interactif où le spectateur s’il le décide, peut interagir. From this meeting of three different instruments, accordion, double-bass and guitare, above which Ramuntcho sometimes sings, a unique music was born, mixing jazz, tango and the new music in a movement which is both Zen and sincerely contemporary.. Sometime Studio decided to publish these recordings in order to share these moments created solely for pleasure. The first record is called "MA-TTA" which means "wait" or "take your time" ... it's a record for intense and serene relaxation. Hiroko Komiya joined the group with common objects to reveal their inherent musicality. The second is called "AT-TA" which means we found or I found. It's more animated and the trio achieve an exceptional musical osmosis. "AT-TA" was recorded in an abandoned theater with exceptional acoustics that did not require any artifice. Ramuntcho Matta made the serie of eight audio-reactive animations in a logical follow-up to "Geneolagy", a series of drawings from 2006 which represent his family tree. Like the drawings, the animations can be compared to an emotional program that behaves like a network of roots which grow, hang together, and fall apart. These roots, torn between the will to leave and the will to stay, are an image of our indefinable human emotions, the bonds between people so difficult to maintain. Hypnotic and soothing, these animations are in total correlation with the term "MA-TTA", "wait" or "take your time". Should one see an autobiographical element? Following "Geneolagy" and the connection with the term "MA-TTA" a shortcut would suggest this. Yet these videos go beyond this! They have a universal element where everyone can find himself.
